Sedona

The Northern Arizona region of Sedona is often called 'Red Rock Country' due to the huge red sandstone monoliths: Cathedral, Coffeepot, Thunder Mountain and more, which surround this eclectic community. The area is rich in Native American history and artifacts, and beckons to outdoor adventurers from around the world. Sedona has become a well-known spiritual center in recent decades - one of its greatest draws is the famed Sedona Vortexes,"hot spots" of spiritual energy renowned for their calming and healing  properties. A community of artists, cowboys and metaphysical philosophers make their living from the steady stream of Sedona visitors from all around the globe. Sedona is an easy 1 hour drive south of Flagstaff - definitely worth checking out!

Downtown Flagstaff
The Grand Canyon Hostel is located on San Francisco street - the "main vein" of Downtown Flagstaff. It is surrounded by a huge variety of restaurants, interesting shops, street-side take out, bakeries, and eclectic bars and breweries. There are a myriad of options to choose from whether you're looking for a special souvenir item, a bite to eat, a hand-crafted IPA beer, or all 3. Historic downtown Flagstaff is the perfect place to spend a leisurely afternoon or a fun filled night on the town!

Arizona Snowbowl

Located on the majestic San Francisco Peaks, the Arizona Snowbowl is just 7 miles outside of Flagstaff. The resort opened in 1938 and is one of the oldest continually operated ski areas in the country. It features 55 trails, 8 lifts, a terrain park, and snowmaking on over 60% of the mountain. With a peak elevation of 11,500 feet and an annual average of 260 inches of snowfall, the Arizona Snowbowl is an exciting destination for adventurous travelers looking for an exhilerating day on the slopes. ​With 2 rustic lodges to choose from, where you can warm up and relax with a hot toddy and bite to eat , onsite equipment rentals, and unbeatable views, it's a great way to spend some outdoor time in a gorgeous winter wonderland!

Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon is located near Page, AZ on Navajo Nation land, just outside Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Antelope Canyon is the most visited slot canyon in the Southwest and offers guided tours daily. It is easily accessible and stunningly beautiful, with just the right combination of depth, width, length and ambient light to showcase the gently sculptured red sandstone. The scenic 2.5 drive from Flagstaff is well worth the effort to experience this amazing natural wonder. Look for milepost 299 just a few miles east  of Page on highway 98. You may also want to visit the famous Horseshoe Bend overlook which is nearby on highway 89A.
