Slide Rock State Park
 

Dare to try the exciting 30-foot water slide eroded into the rocks of Oak Creek Canyon. This natural and slippery slide winds through the cool creek bed and offers visitors an unusual outdoor thrill. 30 minutes from Flagstaff.

Sunset Crater National Monument
  Explore the picturesque remains of a volcano, now surrounded by hardened black lava rivers and mysterious lava caves. More than 900 years ago, Sunset Crater Volcano began to form as ashes and cinders erupted from a fissure in the ground. Today, trails and viewpoints allow close examination of the natural features of this surrealistic landscape. The red orange hue around the volcano's rim suggests its name. 10 minutes from Flagstaff.

Walnut Canyon National Monument
  Experience the beauty and history of this tranquil, pristine, stream-cut gorge. See the remarkable remnants of an ancient Sinagua complex; some 300 rooms built in the steep canyon where pueblo residents lived nearly a thousand years ago. Wupatki National Monument

Zion National Park
  Visit this 146,551-acre world of canyons, grottoes, buttes, mesas, and stunning water-carved rock sculptures, all created through erosion. An awesome 2,000-foot deep canyon lies at the heart of Zion Canyon with a collection of geological marvels carved over time by the Virgin River.
