The Grand
Canyon International Hostelis centrally
located in historic downtown Flagstaff, just one block from
the Amtrak Station and 5 blocks from the Greyhound Station.
It occupies a newly renovated two story building built in
1933 by the Nackard family. It served as a bunkhouse for
travelers in its early years, before hostels were around.
In
1935 more units were built and the Downtowner Motel was born.
It became one of the largest and best known lodging facilities
in Flagstaff.
Today,
it is still hosting Northern Arizona travelers. The Grand
Canyon International Hostel opened its doors in January
1995, after many months of back breaking renovation. It is
beautifully decorated with a southwestern theme, wood floors
and unique artwork. It provides a charming, cozy and relaxing
atmosphere for all hostel guests to enjoy. We hope you will
be our guest sometime soon!
"Meticulously decorated, too
nice to be a hostel." - Berkely
